Holden Cruze production in Australia to end this year
Holden has announced it will cease production of its Cruze model this year.
While Commodore production in Australia will still end 2017, Holden has confirmed Cruze production will end October this year.
Holden said it had discussed the discontinuation with staff for year.
Wheels Magazine’s Toby Hagan told Tom Elliott it’s not a major surprise, as the Cruze was never really seen as an Australian car.
But the Commodore, by contrast, is a uniquely Australian car, and thus will be produced here until the very end.
Indeed, Mr Hagan said the last batch of Commodores could become collectors items.
