Home of slain underworld figure Des Moran torched
The former home of murdered underworld figure Des Moran has been set alight overnight in Ascot Vale.
CCTV footage obtained by authorities from a neighbouring property shows two people running from the house shortly before midnight.
The property was bought for more than $1 million by a property developer in 2011 but has remained vacant.
Plans for a redevelopment were blocked in 2014.
Des Moran, a key figure in the Melbourne gangland war, was murdered at a cafe in 2009. His sister-in-law Judy Moran was convicted for organising the killing.
