Homeless people have set up camp again along Flinders Street just hours after they were moved on.

3AW Drive Program Reporter Jaimee Carstairs went down to speak with the returned homeless.

She told 3AW’s Nick McCallum over a dozen people had ‘set up shop’.

‘There were a couple of guys doing visibly doing drugs on the footpath,’ says Jaimee.

The Salvation Army says more needs to be done to address homelessness.

Almost 14 rough sleepers were forced to move their belongings to the other side of the footpath while a street sweeper cleaned the site.

Major Brendan Nottle tells Nick McCallum the clean-up was carried out as a public health response, but says the bigger issue still needs to be tackled.
