Fires at Carrum Downs and Mount Cottrell
At least one home has been damaged in a dangerous fire at Carrum Downs.
The fire, which had residents at Carrum Downs, Frankston North, Langwarrin and Skye on high alert, has now been downgraded to an Advice warning.
Residents at Eynesbury and Mount Cottrell were warned to leave as a new blaze grew west of Melbourne, but that fire has been been brought under control.

The fire at Blue Wren Rise, Carrum Downs, started mid-afternoon and remained out of control until about 9pm.
It was travelling in a southerly direction towards Quarry Road.
A Watch and Act message was issued for Carrum Downs, Frankston North, Langwarrin, Skye before being downgraded to an advice warning.

MOUNT COTTRELL FIRE
There was a Watch and Act message for Eynesbury and Mount Cottrell residents as a grassfire at Cobbledicks Ford Rd burnt out of control.
The grassfire was travelling in a northerly direction towards Eynesbury township.
But that fire was brought under control shortly before 8PM.
