‘Horrible’ vandals taken to task as Molly Meldrum statue is defaced for the second time

Entertainment reporter Peter Ford has hit out at the vandals who targeted the statue of Molly Meldrum in Richmond last month for the second time in as many years.

The statue depicting the music icon and his dog Ziggy was defaced last year with red paint, with vandals now attempting to dig up the monument, and Ford stated the vandals are just “horrible people”.

“It’s just pure vandalism,” Ford told Ross and Russ on 3AW Breakfast.

The statue has been taken down for repair and may not be reinstalled until Christmas time.
