Horrifying terror attack in New York

At least eight people have been killed and “numerous others” injured in a terror attack in New York.

Police said a vehicle mounted a pedestrian path in Manhattan and struck multiple people.

The driver then continued south before crashing into a bus.

The suspect – who is in custody – exited the car displaying what police said were “imitation firearms” and was shot by NYPD.

Witnesses say he yelled “Allahu Akbar”.

The attack happened not far from the site of the World Trade Center.

Babatunde Ogunniyi filmed some of the aftermath of the attack, which police have confirmed was terror related.

He told Neil Mitchell he heard a truck engine revving and saw the truck driving recklessly.

Initially he thought it was an accident when the truck hit two people on the sidewalk.

“It was all just kind of surreal, it happened so fast. It was shocking, it was unexpected.”
