Thousands of Victorian children are being targeted by scammers, looking to extort them with doctored sexual images.

In some cases the scammers are using AI to create fake images.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Warren Hutchison from the Joint Anti Child Exploitation Team, says sextortion is at the “forefront of offending” right now.
