‘Horror on our roads’: Police investigating two fatal crashes overnight
Police are investigating after a fatal crash at Oaklands Junction, north-west of Melbourne, as well as another fatal crash in Silvan overnight.
“It just seems to be a year that keeps on causing horror on our roads,” Victoria Police Senior Media Advisor Sam Bidey told Ross and Russel.

A 52-year-old Meadow Heights man died after his car struck a tree off Somerton Road just before 1am this morning.
It was one of two deaths on Victorian roads overnight as a 21-year-old Monbulk woman died when her car ran off the road and hit a pole in Silvan at about 9:30pm last night.
The two investigations remain ongoing.
