Is Melbourne at risk of becoming a destination city? According to the director of the centre for urban research that’s a real possibility.

Professor Jago Dodson says the lack of housing affordability for workers in the CBD presents a challenge for the city.

“As we’ve seen post-COVID, there’s less willingness to take long commutes each day of the week to travel to the CBD, and as a consequence, that part of the city isn’t seeing as many people on a given week day as it used to before COVID,” Professor Dodson told Ross and Russel.
