How a mother was able to help stop the planned cuts to the visiting teacher program

Mother Amy Thorpe, whose child Parker is blind and has a visiting teacher, has spoken on how she was able to stop the planned cuts to the visiting teacher program.
Ms Thorpe was one of many in a meeting with the Minister for Education Natalie Hutchins, when the state government backflipped on their initial decision.
If the planned cuts had’ve gone ahead, visiting teachers would’ve been slashed by 71 per cent, but instead Ms Thorpe and many others affected are celebrating the backflip.
“People power has proven strong enough again,” Ms Thorpe told Neil Mitchell.
