Victoria will hold a victims of crime awareness day, with hopes the concept will go national.

The day, to be held on October 25, is the brainchild of Victims Of Crime Commissioner Greg Davies.

He said the focus is not just on what resources are available for victims of crime, but how all Victorians can become better aware of the plight of those dealing with the consequences of crime.

Mr Davies and Attorney General Martin Pakula joined Neil Mitchell in studio to discuss the matter on Wednesday.
