How an Oakleigh hairdresser went above and beyond for an elderly salon regular
A Melbourne hairdresser has gone above and beyond to help an elderly regular customer.
Anne Schembri couldn’t get through to her hairdresser on the phone to book an appointment on Friday, so the 89-year-old hopped on a bus to visit Mylonas Hair & Beauty Salon in Oakleigh in person.
The salon was fully booked for the day, but owner Twinkle and her husband went the extra mile to make sure Anne could get her hair done.
They came to her house on Saturday morning and drove her to the salon for the first haircut of the day.
“I’ve been [going] there for a good many years. They’re a very nice couple and they looked after me and I had my hair cut and everything, and I was very, very pleased,” Anne told Ross and Russel.
