How Canada got $10-a-day childcare (and how Australia could too)

Canada is rolling out $10-a-day childcare nationwide after the success of a $5-a-day scheme introduced in Quebec 25 years ago.
Canadian economist Professor Gordon Cleveland says Canada uses Australia as an example of what not to do with childcare.
He told Jimmy Bartel and Mark Allen, filling in on 3AW Breakfast, workforce participation when the $5-a-day scheme was introduced in Quebec “rose so much that the intake of money from taxes and reduction in welfare spending … more than paid for the cost of the entire enterprise”.
