Renowned documentary maker Pete Dickson has described his horror after his Point Lonsdale property was invaded on early Sunday morning.

Mr Dickson, who has produced countless award-winning sports documentaries, had his car stolen at 12:30am on Sunday, while wallets and laptops were stolen as his family slept inside.

His teenage daughter was forced to hide in a wardrobe while the home invasion was taking place.

“The (robbers) were trying to enter (our) bedrooms and turn lights on,” he told 3AW Drive.
