‘How do you make that funny?’: What comedian Des Bishop WON’T be talking about
According to the blurb for Des Bishop’s show Egorithm, the Irish-American comedian, not afraid to tackles serious issues, will cover the following.
“Male defensiveness around feminism; Islamophobia; his time in China; men; sexual harassment… and as always, a few dirty bits…”
Burnso: So that’s obviously going to look at Harvey Weinstein and #MeToo. How do you make that funny?
Well, turns out not everything can be funny…
“Those descriptions are written well in advance,” Bishop explained.
“I wrote that description about seven months ago, all before #MeToo happened. I did not write that in relation to Harvey Weinstein.
“And now everyone’s expecting me to come out and joke about this very serious thing, which I will NOT be doing, I can assure you!”
