How Melbourne CBD can increase foot traffic during the day

Melbourne’s CBD retailers need to up their game to lure more people back to the city during the day, according to Shane McInnes.

While foot traffic is increasing at night around major events, patronage during the day is still lacking.

And the 3AW Afternoons host said it was time shopping centres turned themselves into destinations to drag people away from their local stores.

“At the moment it seems too many people would rather be at Highpoint, Chadstone, or online rather than in the CBD,” he said on 3AW Afternoons.
