How Nick Kyrgios and Thanasi Kokkinakis are changing tennis

Tom Elliott

One half of Australia’s most iconic doubles duo says Nick Kyrgios and Thanasi Kokkinakis are “moving the needle” with their impact on tennis.

Todd Woodbridge said the pair were attracting fans to the sport that normally wouldn’t watch, which could only be a good thing for tennis.

“There has been a wonderful energy,” he said.

Neil Mitchell asked him if that “energy” sometimes went too far, with their crowd encouragement often leaving their opponents frustrated.

“I think you should have the parameters there and I think, sometimes, Nick oversteps the mark,” Woodbridge said.
