How one of the world’s biggest criminal marketplaces was shut down
One of the world’s biggest online criminal marketplaces — where stolen passwords can be purchased for as little as $1 — has been shut down in a global crackdown.
Australian Federal Police worked with 17 law enforcement agencies as part of the global sting to shut down ‘Genesis Market’, which served as a digital shopping centre for fraudsters, selling stolen login details and other data.
Director of Cyber Intelligence at CyberCX says the bust is “months in the making”.
