How pets helped anxious children cope with lockdown

The study focused exclusively on cats and dogs.
Dr Shannon Bennetts, research fellow at La Trobe University, discussed the findings with Ross and Russel.
“We found a link between stronger pet attachment and children feeling more anxious,” she said.

“Children who were feeling more unsettled during this time were seeking out extra comfort and companionship from their pets,” she said.
