How the discovery of lizards stalled development of over 300,000 homes in Melbourne’s north west

Tony Moclair

A lizard which was believed to have been extinct has been found in Bacchus Marsh which has stalled the development of over 300,000 homes.

Wildlife encounter specialist at Gumbuya World, Ranger Benny, says he doesn’t oppose the building of the houses.

“We don’t want it to be at the absolute destruction of these really important animals … it goes beyond the cuteness of these animals,” he told Tony Moclair.
