How the federal government hopes to save remaining oil refineries

More than $2 billion will be spent to save Australia’s two remaining oil refineries.

Viva Energy in Victoria and Ampol’s Lytton refinery in Brisbane have been struggling to remain viable.

Both companies directly employ more than 1000 workers.

Federal Energy Minister Angus Taylor says the government wants to shore-up Australia’s fuel security.
