How the Hollywood Hawks have changed their approach this season

Injured Hawthorn star Will Day admits his side has had to knuckle down and change its approach this year.

The freewheeling ‘Hollywood Hawks’ shocked the competition last year to reach a semi-final.

But Day told 3AW Football in 2025, they’ve had to change their style as opposition sides drill down into their game plan.

“This year we’ve been scouted more and that Hollywood nature won’t just get us wins,” he said on 3AW.

“It’s been a very different approach for us, we’re getting after our toughness. Last year Sam Mitchell let us have our fan, but this year comes a lot more expectation and responsibility.”

Day also provided an exciting update on his foot injury, which has seen him sidelined since April.
