How the pandemic ‘exposed’ Australia’s manufacturing decline
The COVID-19 pandemic has “exposed” a sharp decline in manufacturing in Australia, according to a new report.
Martin Hamilton-Smith, Director of the Australian Sovereign Capability Alliance, said the country had been a “victim of its own success” with export trade relationships.
“We found out we are dependent on overseas suppliers, which really means we are dependent on overseas governments who can cut you off,” he said on 3AW Drive.
