How to avoid traffic troubles this weekend due to the Melbourne Marathon
If you’re heading into the city this weekend, you’re being advised to allow a little extra time!
The rescheduled Melbourne Marathon is running both days, sparking road closures.
Tom Elliott spoke with Kate Stevenson from the Department of Transport, who explained which areas of the city were most likely to be impacted.
“In terms of road closures, it’s really the Sunday, because that’s when they’re out on the roads,” she said.
“From 3.30 Sunday morning until 1pm we’ll see road closures on sections of St Kilda Road, Flinders Street, Batman Avenue, Wellington Parade and then all the way around to Beach Road, Lakeside Drive and some roads around Albert Park, as well.
“We are just reminding people to allow a little bit of extra time.”
