How to the Good Friday Appeal began in 1931

The Royal Children’s Hospital’s Good Friday Appeal is in its 92nd year this year, and has raised a staggering $421 million since it began.
The hospital now among the world’s best paediatric hospitals, but in 1931, when the Appeal was first held, it was facing closure.
Executive director of the Good Friday Appeal, Rebecca Cowan, says it was a group of sporting journalists who spearheaded the push to save the hospital.
