A City of Melbourne Councillor has explained how clean syringes and opioid medication could be available in vending machines across the CBD to help prevent overdoses.

After a motion was passed on Tuesday night, councillor Dr Olivia Ball is pushing forward with the plan to try and curb the amount of opioid overdoses in the city.

“Anyone who is likely to witness an overdose has (the kit via a vending machine) available to them in an emergency setting,” she told Tom Elliott on 3AW Drive.
