Heidi Victoria woke up feeling “disconnected” one morning in March 2020 and what was happening changed the trajectory of her life.

The former Liberal politician, who was 52 at the time, was having a stroke.

“I rang my former fiancée … got in touch with him and he said ‘I’m going to call an ambulance’ and I said ‘No, I just don’t feel right’,” she told Neil Mitchell in his What Makes You Tick? segment.

“He said ‘You can’t hear what I’m hearing’.”

Heidi was slurring, but she didn’t know it.

She’s made a remarkable recovery, but says the experience has changed her entire outlook and caused her to change her way of life completely.
