Explosion at Richmond building site

A “huge” explosion in Richmond has occurred at a building site in Victoria street around 8:20 this morning.

Richard who heard the bang says a crane carrying building materials hit powerlines.

“It caused a flash, dropped what it was lifting and landed on a spotter or worker below,” he told Neil Mitchell

Police say a construction worker has been taken to hospital for assessment and WorkSafe has been notified and will investigate.
