Yarra Valley golf clubhouse destroyed by huge fire

A fire has broken out in the clubhouse at the Eastern Golf Club in Yering.

Paul told Jimmy Bartel, filling in on 3AW Afternoons, there was “masses of black smoke in the air” at about 2.30pm.

The blaze took firefighters several hours to bring under control.

There is no immediate threat to the community but a community information notice has been issued for smoke in the surrounding area.
