The state’s human rights watchdog has raised concerns about the Victorian government’s controversial pandemic management bill.

Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commissioner Ro Allen has raised the concerns with Attorney-General Jaclyn Symes.

Ro Allen supports the legislation but was seeking clarity.

“I understand people are concerned about parts of it, as I have been, but government has been listening to me and I know to others, so I think it’s going in the right direction,” Allen told Neil Mitchell.

The government is hoping it will pass through the upper house this week.

It comes after thousands protested the proposed laws in the CBD on Saturday.
