Hunt for Glen Waverley’s masked petrol-thrower

Police are hunting a bandit who doused a service station attendant in petrol and threatened to set him alight in Glen Waverley.

?Detectives have released a CCTV photo of the masked man, who targeted a service station on Springvale Road around 4.30 on Sunday morning.

The bandit, who was brandishing a large knife, squirted petrol from a plastic container on the attendant and then threatened to set him on fire.

The victim handed over a small amount of cash and the man fled.

The store attendant wasn’t hurt.

The bandit is described as Caucasian, middle aged and was wearing a hood with a high visibility yellow windcheater, with dark pants.
