Hunt for hit-run driver who struck a woman in Tarneit

The hunt continues for a driver who hit a young woman at an intersection in Tarneit late on Thursday afternoon.

The victim, a 21-year-old woman, was crossing Leakes Road near the corner of Penrose Promenade at about 5.45pm when she was struck by a white sedan.

The driver sped away from the scene.

Another motorist stopped to assist and the woman was taken to hospital in a serious condition.

Police are appealing for anyone with information or dashcam vision or any motorists in the vicinity of the collision at the time to come forward.
