Hunt for man after cruel attack on two pets in Mernda

Police are searching for a man who attacked two pet cats in a cruel outburst in Mernda last week.

The man was walking his dog on Belloza Way just before 5pm on February 16 when he allegedly chased and kicked a black and white cat.

He then picked up a piece of wood and hit a 15-year-old ginger cat.

The elderly cat was severely injured and taken to the vet for treatment. It’s suffering an ongoing leg injury as a result of the violent attack.
