Hunt for man after violent CBD assault

Images have been released of a man wanted over an alleged assault outside a fast food restaurant in Melbourne’s CBD last month.

A 42-year-old man was allegedly punched and lost consciousness when his head hit the footpath on Elizabeth Street in the early hours of August 5.

The assault came after the victim got into a verbal altercation with an unknown man.

The victim was taken to hospital with major head and neck injuries.

The offender fled the scene on foot.

Police have released images of a man they’d like to speak to in relation to the incident. He’s described as in his 20s, of thin build, with olive skin and hair in dreadlocks.
