WORD ON THE STREET

A man has opened up on a terrifying home invasion which allegedly took place in Melbourne’s east on Friday morning.

Police have confirmed two alleged offenders first tried to steal a car and then enter a residence on Cowley Court at around 5:30am, but fled the scene after being confronted by two people inside.

One of those people was John, who told Tom Elliott how the incident unfolded.

“I screamed at him to get (out of the house),” John told 3AW Mornings.

“And then turned around and said (to the offenders) that if they didn’t get out, I was going to shoot them.”
