Neil Mitchell says Victoria Police and the Andrews government must answer questions and apologise to Michael Lamb after the former cop – who was falsely accused of leaking police information to 3AW – had ALL charges struck out in court after “five years of hell” being pursued.

Neil Mitchell says the pursuit of Lamb, who ran as a Liberal candidate at the 2018 election, “smelled political” and demanded an explanation.

Neil Mitchell received multiple tip-offs about a series of home invasions, car-jackings and police pursuits, despite police media saying “nothing had happened” overnight.

“We were in an election campaign and juvenile crime was a topic. Police media said ‘nothing’ was happening, I knew something was happening and I told you – and I was right,” Neil Mitchell said.
