ICC demands answers over ‘poor’ MCG pitch

Cricket’s governing body has demanded answers from the MCG after delivering what it described as a “poor” pitch for the Boxing Day Test.

In an embarrassing blow to the reputation of Australia’s biggest stadium, the ICC said the pitch “did not allow an even contest between the bat and the ball.”

The match resulted in a draw.

Cricket Australia has been given 14 days to provide a response.
