And the arrival of Netflix, Stan, and other streaming services has put heat on Foxtel.

Marketing Professor Con Stavros told Neil Mitchell Foxtel’s model is outdated.

‘They’re trying to mimic TV stations, and we all know where TV stations are likely to go in the future,’ Dr Stavros said.

Dr Stavros said he understands the frustration of many subscribers that Foxtel shows as many ads as free-to-air stations.
