IDEAS FACTORY | Should we legalise marijuana?

Neil Mitchell spoke with the Chief Lawyer for America’s largest drug reform agency, the Drug Policy Alliance.

Dan Abrahamson is involved with California’s cannabis ballot initiative which will be voted on November 8 to legalise Marijuana.

‘Alcohol and tobacco, the genies can’t be put back in the bottle, why should we let a new one out?’ – asks Neil.

‘News flash! the genies already out, at least in the United States.’ – Dan told 3AW Mornings.

Dan says cannabis is far less harmful than alcohol and tobacco and also says legalising cannabis has essentially made using it a little bit ‘boring’.
