Immediate change to Victoria’s vaccine rollout announced
All Victorians aged 16 and above can now receive an mRNA vaccine.
The state government has announced Victorians aged 60 and above can now receive the Pfizer or Moderna jab at state-run vaccination centres.
The change is effective immediately at all state-run hubs.
Previously, over 60s could only receive AstraZeneca.
“It’s time to throw open the doors of all of our clinics, more than 60 of them across the state, to the mRNA vaccines, particularly Moderna and Pfizer, for all comers,” Health Minister Martin Pakula said.
As of yesterday, 86 per cent of Victorians aged 16 or over had received at least one dose of vaccine.
