Immigration expert calls out government on long-term plan
A former high-ranking immigration official has called out the Albanese government for it’s lack of communication on a long-term migration plan.

It comes after home affairs minister Clare O’Neil announced wholesale changes to the visa system on Thursday following a damning review.
However, former deputy secretary of the department of immigration, Dr Abul Rizvi, told Neil Mitchell while he agrees with many of the proposed changes, the government still aren’t communication their long-term plan.
“Not talking about the long-term target is, I think, a problem,” he said.
“Because it leaves everybody in the dark.
“And it leaves the government open to the attacks that the opposition is making, that the government believes in big Australia.”
