In conversation with Chris Hemsworth: Why Thor joined Instagram

Chris Hemsworth is known by many as Thor.

He lives in Byron Bay with his family, shunning the LA lifestyle while building an impressive film career.

His latest movie directed by Ron Howard, In the Heart of the Sea tells the tale of how the classic novel Moby Dick was written. It follows the mammoth tale of the whaling ship Essex and the disaster that ensued.

It’s an adventure drama that tackles themes of survival, fear, determination and courage. In the Heart of the Sea opens in cinemas December 3 and also stars Brendan Gleeson and Cillian Murphy.

Chris spoke with 3AW entertainment and film reporter Donna Demaio about how to stay humble, how he chooses his projects, coping with rejection and why he finally signed up to Instagram.
