Install interlock in every car from now on
The State Government is looking to crack down on drink drivers with harsher interlock laws.
Currently the law has interlock devices installed for drink-drivers who have committed to a high degree offence, but the State Government want it to be installed for anybody that has been caught over the limit.
3AW Drive host Tom Elliott asks, why stop there?
‘I reckon we make it compulsory in this country for all new cars to be fitted with an interlock,’ he said.
‘Make it so that no new car can be started unless someone who is under a pre-set blood alcohol limit, in this state .05, is blowing into the device.’
