New figures reveal motorists who fail to shop around are wasting up to $40 a week.

In recent days, unleaded petrol prices in major cities have varied by $40 to 50 cents depending on discounting cycles.

CEO of the Australasian Convenience & Petroleum Marketers Association, Mark McKenzie, says it’s an “interesting challenge” facing the petroleum industry.
