International relations expert says it ‘absolutely makes sense’ to raise terror threat level

Yesterday, we learned that Australia’s official terror alert level has been raised to “probable”, with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and ASIO boss Mike Burgess addressing the media.

International relations expert based at Deakin University, Professor Greg Barton, told Tom Elliott “it absolutely makes sense that’s it being raised now”.

“We expect the government to be honest with us,” Professor Barton said on 3AW Mornings.
