International visitors flock to Australia more than double the rate residents are heading overseas

International visitors are flocking to Australia at more than double the rate residents are heading overseas, creating a further boom for the tourism industry.

Ross and John spoke with the Managing Director of Tourism Australia, John O’Sullivan.

John says due to various factors, the amount of tourists is spread quite evenly between Asia and Western markets. 

‘China is the big market for us at the moment, in terms of visitor numbers, there’s been about 1.2 million chinese that came last year.’ – he told 3AW Breakfast.
