‘Intriguing one’: Man charged after wild scam and alleged false cancer claims

A 30-year-old man has been charged after he allegedly fooled his family into thinking he had cancer and deceiving them into handing over more than one million dollars.
“Quite an intriguing one this one,” Victoria Police Senior Constable Jody Clayton told Ross and Russ.

He also allegedly used a fake document to obtain a new car from a Horsham dealership worth nearly $70,000.
The man who was arrested in Ararat last year has been charged with 28 offences including 10 counts of obtain property by deception and will face court next week.
