Axe-wielding intruder enters school west of Melbourne
Tom Elliott has been told of a frightening incident west of Melbourne, where an intruder has entered the grounds of a Melton high school with an axe.
John said parents of students at Staughton College received a text message informing them a person had entered the school.
The text said, “Briefly an intruder was on the grounds today. School Emergency plan was enacted. All students safe at all times.”
John said the message was received at 3.03pm and school finishes at 3.05pm.
“It raises a lot of concerns as a parent,” John said.
“Why were we not contacted prior?”
Victoria Police confirmed they responded to an incident at the school about 1.15pm when a man was seen walking across the oval.
When he was confronted by the school’s principal the man produced an axe.
He then continued walking across the oval and left the Wilson Road school grounds.
