Investigation underway after Royal Flying Doctor Service plane’s rough landing at Essendon
The Royal Flying Doctor Service is investigating two landing mishaps including one at Essendon Airport last night.
The front wheel of one of its planes, conducting a non emergency patient transport, collapsed as it touched down at Essendon Airport at around 6.20pm.
The plane skidded about 500 metres before coming to rest on the runway
None of the six people on board were injured.
The pilots are said to be perplexed as to the cause of the crash,
The incident came just hours after another mishap involving a Royal Flying Doctor Service plane at Moomba in South Australia.
The organisation says its working with authorities investigating both incidents.
