Is it time to cut out takeaway coffees to ease cost of living pressures?

A viral Instagram video posted by Kevin O’Leary has prompted furious debate on how to ease the current cost of living crisis.

In the video, the Canadian businessman who appears on Shark Tank, urges people to stop buying takeaway coffee and lunch and instead save more money.

Finder Money Expert Sarah Megginson weighed into the debate on 3AW Drive, saying it was important a balance is struck on discretionary spending.

“We all have to mindful to enjoy our lives,” she told Shane McInnes.

“For many people getting that coffee on the way to work or buying lunch…that’s something we want to do to enjoy our lives.”
